Saving Damaged Teeth
If you've got a cavity, damaged tooth or other dental health issue, these can eventually cause enough pain and discomfort to interfere with your daily life. Fortunately, your dentist can assess your problem and recommend restorative dental services to suit your needs.
Restorative dental care covers a range of treatments and procedures designed to repair damage, prevent disease and preserve teeth for years to come.
The sooner you receive treatment, the less likely it is that you will experience complications in the future. Long-term, this can help save you a significant amount of time, money and anxiety and prevent your teeth from developing more issues or deteriorating.
Root Canals
A root canal is a procedure that helps repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth. It can help relieve the pain caused by an infection, stop an infection from spreading and prevent the need for an extraction.
Dental Crowns
Your dentist may place a crown, a tooth shaped cap, atop a tooth to restore its function and appearance. Crowns can be used to cover dental implants, attach bridges or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. They may also help to restore a stained or discoloured tooth to its natural appearance.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are custom-made, natural-looking tooth replacements. They can be bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace multiple missing teeth. These dental restorations can restore the bite between upper and lower teeth, as well as the natural contour of teeth. They are also hardly noticeable to the casual observer.
Dental Fillings
Composite (tooth-coloured) fillings are used to repair a cavity or damage to a tooth, such as a crack or chip. They can also help restore worn enamel. Fillings are made to fill small to medium-sized areas of decay. They are able to withstand the constant stress of chewing and can be used on both front and back teeth.
Inlays & Onlays
Dental inlays and onlays are used when a tooth is too severely damaged for a standard dental fillings. While inlays are used to repair damage in the centre of a tooth, onlays repair damage to the outer cusps. After being custom-made in a dental laboratory, they are permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.
Full Dentures
For patients missing all of their teeth, one of our primary goals is to help them maintain their facial structure, and to talk and eat properly. This can be accomplished with full dentures. They can be fitted for your upper or lower gums, and are held in place by suction and/or with the help of an oral adhesive.
Partial Dentures
Your dentist will use partial dentures if you are missing more than a few teeth or if your surrounding teeth are not strong enough to support a dental bridge. Partial dentures are made up of one or more artificial teeth held in place by clasps that fit onto your natural teeth or a tooth replacement like a dental crown.
Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
Periodontal disease, also called gum disease, refers to a severe gum infection that can damage the soft tissue around teeth. Periodontal treatment methods depend on the type and severity of the disease. Our dentists will work with you to create a treatment plan based on your particular case.
TMJ Disorder Treatment
The temporomandibular joint (or TMJ) is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull. The disorder of this joint can cause a host of issues with your jaw and the muscles in your face, including painful symptoms.
