Helping Calm Anxious Patients
Our team at Life Dental always strives to create an environment where you can relax, confident that your dental health will be well cared for. It's our goal to make every dental appointment as stress free as possible for all of our patients.
If you often experience anxiety before coming to the dentist, we may recommend oral sedation. This method allows us to work on your teeth while helping you stay relaxed.
Oral sedatives are medications, prescribed by your dentist, that come in either pill or liquid form. These medications allow you to remain awake and responsive during your dental treatment, but will help you feel much more relaxed.
The need for oral sedation is determined on an individual, case-by-case basis. If you feel anxious about an upcoming dental appointment, or if you need treatment but are too afraid to book an appointment, call us! We are here to help you get the dental care services you need and deserve.
Managing Dental Anxiety
Feeling anxious about a visit to your dentist is completely natural. Even those who visit the dentist on a regular basis still feel anxious about their appointments. We take pride in helping you minimize your anxiety as much as possible.
At our New Westminster clinic, calming dental anxiety isn't just focused on sedation medication. In addition to using the appropriate medication, we employ calming techniques to help relieve dental anxiety.
Don't hesitate to communicate your concerns to your dentist. Our dentists can recommend techniques to help you feel more relaxed and comfortable. We can also take the time to explain each step of the treatment from start to finish, so you know what to expect.
To help alleviate any anxiety you might have, we will work at your pace, take breaks whenever you need them, and provide calm reassurance throughout your treatment.
